Department of Obstetric and Gynaecology

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is one of the clinical departments in the Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS) that functions and operates to provide excellent, quality, and latest services as well as appropriate technology to create a healthy community of women and families. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS) started operating in stages since 9 December 2019. This department started services in Reproductive and Infertility subspecialty operations and then expanded to Maternal-Fetal and Gynaecology services with subspecialties from trained Specialists. The service coverage of this department covers several districts in the State of Selangor. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology also receives many referrals from UPM Health Centers, Government and Private Health Clinics from outside the Klang Valley.

Department of Urology

The Department of Urology is committed to excellence in the delivery of specialized medical and surgical care in all major aspects of urology. We provide comprehensive urological services with a wide range of latest state-of-the-art technologies such as da Vinci® robotic surgical system, Koelis Trinity™ MRI-US fusion prostate biopsy system, REZUM transurethral water vapor treatment for benign prostatic enlargement and many others more.

In UPM Urology, we believe in the importance of the doctor-patient partnership in the pathway to recovery and wellness, by empowering patients and at the same time delivering patient-centric expertise and care.

Department of Psychiatry

Department of Psychiatry provides services in psychiatry and clinical psychology for the public that includes adults, children, adolescents and elderly individuals. The service provided comprises an outpatient clinic and ward admission for acutely ill patients. The department also provides the facilities for teaching undergraduate medical program, psychiatry specialty and postgraduate clinical psychology programs that are offered by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), research activities and consultation in the field of psychiatry.

The service in psychiatry is provided by a group of specialists, medical officers and paramedic staff who are highly dedicated and committed to deliver the service that is holistic and comprehensive. In addition, the department is also committed to conduct programs that can help in the prevention of mental health issues through health education to the public. Overall, the department has aimed to provide services of psychiatry and clinical psychology that is in line with Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS) tagline ie: Providing Extraordinary Care Together

Counselling and Medical Social Service Unit (CMSSU)

Counselling and Medical Social Service Unit (CMSSU) is a unit that focuses on the welfare of patients by providing assistance to those in need. Assistance includes counselling, support therapy, practical assistance and organizing programs related to medical welfare, motivation and psychological management. The unit is made up of Psychology Officers and administrative staff with a wide range of expertise and skills related to counselling and social work. CMSSU is committed to carrying out its work in line with HSAAS's motto of "Providing Extraordinary Care Together" to ensure that the well-being of our clients is always a priority. Services at CMSSU are open to all patients, beneficiaries and staffs who serve at HSAAS.

UPM COUNSELING DIVISION (BKUPM)

 

OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH MANAGEMENT OFFICE

The Occupational Health Section was assigned to manage workplace related accident/ injury cases amongst students and staff within the campus area as well as to carry out periodic health surveillance amongst staff exposed to contaminated materials. The scope of service expended the service to Bintulu Campus, Sarawak to.

Amongst the services provided are:-

  1. Occupational Health Surveillance Program for UPM staff exposed to Hazardous Chemicals (USECCH 2000, Occupational Safety and Health Act, 1994), and Radiation (Basic Safety Standards, 1988, Atomic Energy Licensing Act, 1984) at their workplace during the duration of employment in UPM.*
  2. Pre Placement Employment Examination Program.*
  3. Occupational Health Screening Program (Ergonomics).
  4. Planning and implementation of occupational health promotion, such as control and prevention at the workplace so as to prevent UPM staff from any work related accidents/injuries/disease.*
  5. Monitoring of injury, accidents cases or illness that occurred in UPM and was treated in UHC, UPM.
  6. Conduct training and first aid courses for UPM staff and students.
  7. Medical Practitioner Consultant Service regarding health and occupation related issues for researchers of faculties as well as UPM staff.
  8. Health Examination Program for application of JPJ license for UPM commercial drivers.
