Environmental Research Centre

Universiti Putra Malaysia’s environmental research institutes collectively play a vital role in advancing sustainability through interdisciplinary research, innovation, and technology development in environmental management, protection, sustainable production, and resource efficiency. Comprising 367 staff, these institutes including INTROP, IBS, IEB, i-AQUAS, IKP, ITAFos, the Bioprocessing and Biomanufacturing Research Center, MyAgeing®, ION2, and the INSPEM operate under the coordination of the Research Management Centre (RMC) UPM, which oversees and streamlines research activities. The institutes also contribute to academia through curriculum development, teaching, and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, strengthening UPM’s capacity to address environmental challenges while nurturing future sustainability leaders.
